As temperatures warm up and summer days approach, snakes are emerging from their dens after sheltering from the cold winter months across North Texas. Several varieties of venomous snakes call North Texas home, including the copperhead, cottonmouth and the Western diamondback rattlesnake. One of the most common species of snakes isn't venomous at all. Despite their larger size, Texas rat snakes pose no threat to humans. Experts warn the public to be alert at all times!

The serpent plays a part in many cultural traditions around the world. But unlike Genesis 3, in many of the traditions the snake is the hero instead of the villain! That's exactly what Satan would like for people to believe! Check out:
