Panama City Beach Updates - August 14th, 2020

Public

Greetings all!  I hope this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath finds you all doing well.  At sunset tonight, we will be exactly 7 weeks away from the beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles!

My wife and I just returned from several planning meetings at PCB, and we are pleased to report that life there seems fairly normal.  Most restaurants and shops are open, some with shorter hours than normal.  Masks are required at all indoor public facilities, although they can be removed once you have been seated for dining.  Masks are not required outdoors and the beaches are all open, with everyone maintaining adequate social distancing from one another.

Earlier today, we were able to migrate everyone who was on the waitlist over to regular registration for the Feast.  That means that everyone who is desiring to attend services in-person every day will be able to.  Thank you to everyone for their patience and cooperation throughout the process!

Unfortunately, due to social distancing guidelines, both the Family and Teen Dances have been canceled.  We are however looking at other activities to replace these, and updates will be sent out once a final decision is made.  The Family Day activity at Rock-it! Lanes is still scheduled to happen, as is the Senior Luncheon at Captain Jack's restaurant.

Like many of you, I have been monitoring the data that is used for the Travel Guidelines to Bay County (you can read in more detail here under the heading 'Travel Rental Reservations').  The VERY good news is that it appears the number of Active cases per 100,000 people is on a constant downward trend nationwide, with most states now falling well within the allowable limits of these guidelines.  Let's pray these numbers continue to fall as we prepare to join in celebrating the Feast together in person at Panama City Beach this year!
