Good evening!

We are now less than a month away from the start of the Feast of Tabernacles!

As we approach the fall holydays, I know your excitement, as well as ours, is building, and you are ensuring that all is in order for you to enjoy the Feast in Daytona.

Let me bring you up to date on preparations we have in place, and some things we still need you to do in order  for some of the activities of the Feast to happen as planned:

1.      Mask Room:   Several have asked, and yes, we will have a designated mask room that is separate from the Main Meeting Hall.  It is quite a large room that will allow for as many as need or would like to sit there.   In order that we may set up and have enough chairs available in this room, we would like to hear from you that you plan to use that room.

So, if you can email me your intent to be in the Mask Room and the number in your family or party who will be in there, it will help us considerably in our planning.

2.   Family Day at the Daytona Lagoon:   As of yesterday, only 118 tickets to this activity have been sold.  In order for us to hold the price at the $36 listed, we need to have at least 300 sign up for this event.   The Daytona Lagoon is a wonderful facility, with literally “something for everyone” and of every age.   Besides the water park, the large slides, and the kiddie swim area, there is a full arcade of games, go karts, mini golf, ropes course, laser tag, and more-- all included in that one price.  Last year, the activity won rave reviews from the more than 400 who attended.

If you are withholding commitment to this event because of indecision, COVID or other concerns, I would ask that you would please go ahead and purchase your tickets if you plan to go.  In the very unlikely event that we would not be able to hold this activity, your money will be refunded.  The Lagoon has been patient with us, as we were to commit to them a few days ago, but very soon I will need to commit to the event at a higher price per ticket if we do not meet the expected at least 300 who would be interested, at which point I will come back to you and ask for additional funds or cancel the activity for lack of interest.

Bear in mind that that this is a private event for UCG only.  The Park is not scheduled to be open on that day, and it will be too late for them to schedule staff if we do not commit to the event by purchasing advance tickets.  The decision on this event will have to be made in the next week or so.

If you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to me.

3.    Activity Schedule:   The Services and Activity Schedule for the Feast is set.  It is attached for your review and is separately posted under the “Posts” tab of the Daytona Feast site at feast.ucg.org.

4.   Youth Education Volunteers:   As you see on the Schedule, we have Youth Education Lessons scheduled on two days of the Feast.  We need a few more volunteers to help the 70+ 5-12 year olds who will be in these classes.  If you would like to help out in this area, please let me know.

Finally, let me remind you that there are currently no COVID restrictions in place at the Ocean Center or in Daytona Beach.  We plan to make the necessary provisions for those who want them, as noted earlier in this update.

I will write again in a few weeks as we get closer to the Feast and provide more details on parking, handicapped services, and other items, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please let Doug Wendt (our Assistant Coordinator) or me know.

And--might I add--if you are receiving this message but have changed your Feast plans and no longer plan to come to Daytona for the Feast, please consider changing your Feast registration online.  It does help for us to have a good idea of how many plan to attend.

Thank you.  We look forward to observing God’s Feast with you in beautiful Daytona Beach in just a few weeks.
