2015 Feast of Tabernacles Report
Got Kachola, Ogembo, and Meru, Kenya
There were 477 members from the East African countries of Kenya and Tanzania who observed an inspiring and encouraging Feast at three Church-owned sites spread across Kenya.
Above the village of Got Kachola, 239 from Southwest Kenya and Northwest Tanzania rejoiced together in temporary dwellings with a panoramic view of Lake Victoria. Sunny days in the semi-arid region were packed with services, lots of music, and plenty of food and fellowship. Activities for the youth included a boat ride on the lake to visit a nearby island.
A four-hour-drive heading northwest found 123 more brethren who joyously celebrated the festival near the village of Ogembo. The lush, tropical mountain setting there affords beautiful landscapes with abundant foliage. Brethren from various tribes across the region enjoyed being together and receiving the blessings of the festival’s food, fellowship and daily services.
Another 10-hour drive northwest was where 115 members from Eastern, Central and Western Kenya gathered to keep the Feast in a private rural setting away from the town of Meru. The snow-capped peak of nearby Mt. Kenya provided both an interesting backdrop and the sparkling clear water supply for all the facilities at the Feast site. A variety of weather added to the daily activities of spiritual food, fellowship, music, games and evenings around big campfires.
Many, many East African brethren expressed their great desire to have international visitors come join them at the Feast in Kenya in 2016. Karibuni sana (a warm welcome)!
