2015 Queensland Women’s Enrichment Weekend
The ladies enjoyed a meet-and-greet Friday evening, where everyone received welcoming gifts made by Judy Nelson.
The sermon, given by Bill Bradford, focused on growing in the mind of God through the three disciplines of prayer, studying God’s Word and meditation.
Throughout the weekend ladies heard four presentations. Jenny Bradford expounded upon the word “meditation” and how it’s used in the Bible. She encouraged everyone to use the positive form of meditation (Philippians 4:8) rather than give in to worry and anxiety. Jenean Rivers followed with an energetic presentation on “Time in a Busy Day to Meditate.” She explained how hard it is for her as a mother of three young children trying to fit in all things she needs to do each day and how a mother can make this work in her busy schedule. Jenny Kusz gave a two-part presentation and covered the topic of “Cultivating Joy Through Godly Meditation.” Bernadette Marozza spoke about her daily struggle with multiple sclerosis (MS) and expounded on how she uses the powerful tool of medication in a seminar titled “What I Have Learned From Meditation.”
Throughout the weekend ladies enjoyed fellowship, special music selections, walks on the beach and shared meals together. Kaylene Barton gave a special tribute honoring the life of Chontelle Taylor, who died unexpectedly in October. Remembrances and memories were shared of the blessing of her life, and how dearly she is missed.
The next Women’s Enrichment Weekend is being planned for Aug. 26-29, 2016.
