2017 Feast of Tabernacles

Reduit Beach, St. Lucia

Brethren from Canada, Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago and the U.S.A. joined the St. Lucia brethren for a most uplifting time of great fellowship, messages, food and rejoicing.

Everyone was especially happy to offer big hugs to our lone Dominican members, Augustus and Vera Joseph. Since Hurricane Maria devastated their island, no one has been able to contact them, so you can imagine our joy to see them arrive safely in St. Lucia for the Feast of Tabernacles.

The greatest highlights were, of course, the messages and fellowship. Other activities included a tour of the island, catamaran cruise and family day at the Pigeon Island national landmark. Everyone raved about the cultural evening, where St. Lucian music and dance were on display, as well as foods from all the Caribbean islands prepared by the Feast attendees from those islands.

The annual “wine and cheese toast on the Morne” was also held on the eve of the Eighth Day. Everyone joined in a hymn as we watched the sun set over a peaceful blue ocean. We bid farewell to the Feast of Tabernacles and welcomed the Eighth Day as we reflected on the realization of what these days picture.

As usual, there were many tearful goodbyes the next day, and we all agreed—until we meet again, and may God speed that day!
