2018 Camp Report
Preteen Camp Nacome
Campers kicked off camp activities with Novelty Olympics Sunday afternoon. Everyone enjoyed getting to meet their new dorm mates, counselors and activity staff, while sharing some great fun.
Each day started with a Christian living class that focused on how God’s plan and vision for us to become part of his family is important and something we must work on daily. We may not always see it right away in our lives, but over time with studying and prayer, we’ll begin to understand what God has planned for us.
Following Christian living, campers and staff dove into a full day of activities of air riflery, archery, low ropes, caving, funyaking, nature and creek walks, arts and crafts, and field activities. Campers really enjoyed the challenging new activities this year with great enthusiasm and Zone spirit. We even had the swimming hole make a come back this year, complete with a water slide.
God’s gift of perfect weather stayed with us the entire week. The weather outlook before camp started had 90 degree days with unusually high humidity. But as soon as camp got underway, our days were blessed cool low 80s with almost no humidity and a nice, cooling breeze. You couldn’t have asked for better weather!
Thank you to all who volunteered this year. Once again you made the camp experience top notch and it showed in every smiling face that left for home at the end of camp. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming months and fall Holy Days.
