2018 Feast of Tabernacles

Suriname

An average of 42 brethren from as far as the Netherlands, California, Washington, Michigan and Pennsylvania, not to forget our local brethren from Suriname, celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles in the beautiful Millennial setting of the White Beach Resort. For many of our Suriname brethren it was their first Feast ever and their excitement was bountiful.

Situated on the Suriname River, the resort offered us not only beauty and convenience but privacy, which made our time more intimate and enjoyable.

We were served many traditional Suriname dishes, which come from several ethnic backgrounds and drinks made from the different fruits grown only in Suriname.

The physical food was truly a different experience for the American brethren, which was topped only by the spiritual food offered to us all.

Tours to Joden Savanah (the ruins of a Jewish colony) and to the capital city of Paramaribo proved to be an educational experience. Brethren were inspired by the diversity of people and the tolerance of religion that exists in Suriname. We visited the beautiful, newly constructed, American embassy, along with the lovely area called Palm Garden, where there are more than 1,000 palm trees, some more than 300 years old.

The Feast of Tabernacles in Suriname was a great success, proven by the many brethren that conveyed their desire to come back next year!
