2019 Camp Report
Nacome Preteen Camp
Just as campers arrived on Sunday, God blessed us with very enjoyable weather bringing down the suffocating heat and humidity from the 90’s to low 80’s with cool, comfortable evening temperatures.
Campers enjoyed daily nature activities including creek walks, caving and shelter building along with outdoor activities like archery, air riflery, swimming and canoeing. Team building activities like human foosball, low ropes and campus improvement provided many opportunities to make new friendships as well.
Christian Living classes focused on topics like not letting peer pressure dictate one’s actions, and standing up for God’s truth. Classes were complemented by an entertaining rendition of the story of Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego in which campers and staff helped role play the story of three young men faced with a difficult choice.
This year everyone learned a new song of faith and dedication to sing and sign when beginning and ending each Christian Living class.
There was no doubt God’s hand was in all that was accomplished throughout camp this year. His blessings of great weather along with no serious injuries were gratefully received and we give Him thanks for all He did.
Staff were also amazing with like-mindedness and serving attitudes, especially the young adults and teens that joined us this year. Without the staff who serve, the camp program would not be possible.
From June 6-10, 2020, Camp Nacome will return at the same location.
