2020 Feast of Tabernacles
Vancouver, British Columbia
The high attendance was 25 on the Eighth Day/Last Great Day with a daily average of 20 people.
Services went smoothly and the technology worked very well using an overhead projector aligned with a new Mac. Virtual choir presentations and Victor Kubik’s Feast message were of high quality for audio and video.
Messages were inspiring, instructive and exhortative. The speakers were David Palmer, an elder, Peter Corrigan and deacons Richard Shiundu and Dale Craniford, David Lawrence, and Andrae Dennis. On Oct. 8, services had to be canceled due to BC Hydro’s shutting power to the neighborhood for maintenance purposes. In the absence of live services, Surrey attendees could connect to a webcast from British Columbia’s main site in Osoyoos.
Feast social activities in Surrey were highlighted by a Monday visit to the White Rock beachside restaurant followed by a beautiful oceanside walk, a fun Tuesday afternoon of mini golf and an enjoyable session of bowling on Wednesday. There were other opportunities for food and fellowship at restaurants conveniently located near our church building.
Many thanks to pastor David Palmer and his wife Ghyslaine for their hard work and success in coordinating the Feast amid unique challenges due to COVID-19.
With assistance from several of the local brethren, the smaller but intimate site in Surrey made for a very spiritually uplifting Festival in this strange year of the pandemic.
