2021 Camp Reports
Be Anchored to God
The United Youth Camps program is now 26 years old. This year, five teen summer camps where held in June and July. During that time, 423 campers and 276 staff attended one of the five camps. Winter Camp is scheduled for Dec. 27-Jan. 2. In spite of an outbreak of COVID-19 at Camp Pinecrest, there were five COVID-19-free camps, beginning with Winter Camp last December. Campers and staff were overjoyed to be together in the camp environment since no summer camps were held in 2020. Camp directors were very pleased with their staff. Many first-time staff stepped into the gap to bolster the staff numbers. We want to extend our thanks to all of the dedicated staff members who served this year.
The theme of this year was Be Anchored to God, focusing on a passage found in Hebrews 6:19, "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil."
One camp director wrote: “The theme was positively received, and lent to some really good questions and discussion throughout the week both in the Compass Check, Christian Living and dorm parent discussions.”
We strive to continuously improve the camp experience for all involved. The UYC program wishes to thank all of the parents, campers and staff for working together this summer.
