2021 Feast of Tabernacles
Walnut Creek, Ohio
The rolling green hills of Holmes County and nice weather provided the perfect setting for this “Feast in Community.” Services were held in a big top tent at Timbercrest Camp & RV Park.
The uplifting, God-focused messages and special music illuminated God’s awesome promises in the context of the Holy Days. The beautiful campfire area right next to the tent provided the perfect spot for many hours of fellowship. The iron kettle soup and kettle popcorn was a highlight on many evenings.
We erected two booths in the campfire area with branches found in the surrounding woods. These were a reminder throughout the week that God asks us to dwell in temporary dwellings during the Feast of Tabernacles.
Approximately 100 visitors from the community came throughout the week to learn more about the Feast days. Some of them joined us for a seminar held on Saturday evening focusing on shepherd leadership as well as a seminar on Sunday evening titled “Mt. Sinai in Arabia.” We served “Tabernacle Tacos” and “Bartholomew Burgers” to our visitors from the community who stayed several hours to fellowship.
The brethren also had the opportunity to visit the Amish Country Theater for a comedy show, learn about the history of the Amish and Mennonites at the Behalt Museum, feed safari animals at The Farm in Walnut Creek, and browse at the famous Lehman’s Hardware store where items grandma and grandpa used can still be purchased. The many local shops provided plenty of opportunities to enjoy Swiss cheese, homemade chocolates, crafts, baked goods and much more.
The Feast concluded with farewell fellowship around the campfire after the Eighth Day, which gave us one last opportunity to visit and appreciate each other.
May we continue to glorify our great God and may He bless and keep us all until next year.
