ABC Student Council Chosen
On September 22, faculty advisor Gary Antion announced the student council for the Ambassador Bible Center class of 2011. The first meeting had a successful start as the student council, which is composed of class officers and committee heads, discussed their responsibilities and goals for serving their fellow classmates. Mr. Antion admonished the members with the reminder that the classmates had chosen their positions of service for each member and that the council members “are not here to do something on the student body; they are here for the students.”
The class positions of office were filled by Josh Lamoureux as president, Amy Hunt as secretary, Chad Johnson as treasurer and Michael Slocum as monitor. There are also six committee heads. The Social Committee heads include Charles Wilson and Adriane Mez, who are responsible for planning activities and setting them in motion. Janet Hines is the committee head for the service projects and helps organize opportunities for students to serve their community and Church brethren. The committee head Nathan Flournoy provides technical support in class sessions and other areas. Hanna Reisdorff organizes the class calendar and messages for the students on the message board and Amanda Boyer edits the class newspaper called the ABC Times. The ABC Chorale also performs for church congregations and is headed by David Browning and Amanda Boyer.
The ABC student council is excited about the opportunity to serve their classmates. Every Thursday, each committee meets during the student assembly with the committee heads to work together. On Wednesday of every week, the student council meets to discuss the progress of each committee and searches for ways to help improve overall class morale and serve their student body.
