An Investment in God’s Way of Life
Thank you for your prayers and financial support of this camp program, and we especially thank our very dedicated staff who served at camp. God has richly blessed UYC with another very positive season. Our Christian living theme was “God’s Vision for You,” based on Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” The campers and staff were “all in” with the Christian living classes.
I can think of no better way of capturing what UYC is about than to have you read what a mother wrote after her son returned home from one of the teen camps (edited for brevity): “My son returned from camp spiritually invigorated and refreshed, as he has each of his previous times at camp. I wanted him to understand that the joy and fullness that he feels from his camp experience is what God intends for us to experience all the time as followers of His way of life. When God is central in all you do and when He is the focus, then your life is filled with joy—a joy that lasts and satisfies versus the temporary or fleeting thrills that worldly experiences provide.
“My son tells me that the campers want to be there; they want to learn more and are seeking God’s way of life. What a tremendous tool for these young people—a wonderful wholesome environment where they can taste firsthand how satisfying God’s way of life is, and how fulfilling proper fellowship and community can be.
“They are learning, listening and investing in God’s way of life—God’s way moving through the generations. No doubt God the Father is pleased to see these young people being taught His truth. Camp has been absolutely profitable to his young life.”
