Llegamos el día lunes 26 de diciembre a mediodía a Boa Vista, Brasil. Luego viajamos media hora aproximadamente, hasta llegar al lugar del campamento llamado “Eco Park”, en donde tiempo después llegaron los jóvenes a instalarse en el lugar.

Las niñas dormían en una casa con varias habitaciones, mientras que los niños en hamacas, en un galpón ubicado a un par de metros.

Eco Park fue un lugar maravilloso para realizar el campamento, presentaba todas las facilidades para realizar las actividades, además de tener un hermoso paisaje. Los otros voluntarios del campamento decían que tenía la apariencia de ser una isla, por lo plano del terreno y el lago extenso que se teñía de colores salmones al atardecer.

El campamento se definió como “La Zona,” la cual consistía en apoyarse entre otros, no tener miedo a hacer el ridículo, involucrarse en el grupo, poder superar los miedos, entre otros. En otras palabras, fomentar las relaciones positivas y crear un ambiente sano. Esto último se logró satisfactoriamente,  los jóvenes disfrutaron cada momento del lugar y del campamento, se veían realmente felices y había una colaboración mutua entre todos.

Para ellos las mejores actividades eran las relacionadas al agua, si hubiese sido por ellos pasarían gran parte del día en las piscinas, lago y tobogán. La energía y entusiasmo de todos ellos durante esa semana era increíble, siempre tenían una buena disposición y sonrisa al realizar las actividades, así como también una gran receptividad a los mensajes y consejos que se les otorgó durante el campamento.

A pesar de tener que lidiar con tres idiomas (inglés, portugués y español), la dinámica que se armó en el lugar fue realmente positiva, los niños y jóvenes de Maloca son un ejemplo a seguir y con ellos se quedó una parte de mi corazón, ellos tienen mucho amor y cariño que entregar sin esperar algo a cambio.

En resumen, fue un campamento maravilloso, con niños, jóvenes y personas maravillosas.

We arrived on Monday December 26 at noon to Boa Vista, Brazil. Then we traveled about half an hour, until arriving at the camp "Eco Park," where a little later the young people arrived to settle in the place.

The girls slept in a house with several rooms; while the boys slept in hammocks in a building a couple of meters away.

Eco Park was a wonderful place to have camp, it had all the facilities needed for the activities, besides having a beautiful landscape. The other camp volunteers said that it had the appearance of being an island, because of the flat of the land and the vast lake that was dyed salmon colors at dusk.

The camp was defined as "The Zone," which consisted of supporting each other, not being afraid to make a fool of oneself, to get involved in the group, to overcome fears, among others. In other words, foster positive relationships and create a healthy environment. This last one was achieved satisfactorily, the young people enjoyed every moment of the place and the camp, they looked really happy and there was a mutual collaboration between all.

For them the best activities were related to water, if it had been up to them they would spend much of the day in the pools, lake and slide. The energy and enthusiasm of all of them during that week was incredible, they always had good attitudes and smiles when participating in the activities. They were also very receptive to the messages and advice that were granted to them during the camp.

Despite having to juggle three languages ​​(English, Portuguese and Spanish), the dynamic was really positive, the children and young people of Maloca are an example to follow and I left a part of my heart with them. They have much love and affection to give without expecting something in return.

In short, it was a wonderful camp! With wonderful children and young people.
