Discussion Group in Portsmouth Congregation
At least 45 brethren regularly join together after services for food and discussion. Our theme scripture is Acts 17:11: “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
Participants share a meal, then sit together in a family-style, round-table discussion group where anyone can participate. Topics thus far have been self-examination, the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, and we’ve taken nine months to go over the fruits of the Spirit. Young and old join together to sharpen each other through discussion. Iron sharpens iron, and we are thrilled to be able to learn more about each other as well as encourage each other through spending time together.
