First Ever NYC Young Adults Weekend Planned in June

Take advantage of the opportunity of a lifetime to tour, study God’s Word, worship, fellowship, dance and learn together in the world’s most exciting city on the weekend of June 22-24, 2012. The theme for the weekend is “The City on the Hill—Your Limitless Future.” All Church of God Sabbath-observing young adults, married and single from 18 to 35 years old are invited to a spectacular schedule of events.

After the inspiring themed sermon and services at the stunning Upper East Side 130-year-old Gothic Wallace Hall on Park Avenue, young adults will walk two blocks for a picnic hosted by the New York City young adults in the world famous Central Park. They will then be spiritually stimulated by participating in two interactive Bible studies in Central Park presented by two young adult couples. “Using God’s Principles in and Ungodly World” will be presented by Christina and Eric Pate of Mountain View, California, and Seattle, Washington; they have been married for one year. Christina is a Microsoft account executive at Google, and Eric is just beginning his career as construction engineer at Kwitt. The second interactive Bible study, “Staying Pure in an Impure World,” will be facilitated by Glen and Michelle Roscoe. They live in New York City and will be married on May 20, outside of Tampa, Florida. Michelle is studying international relations at the State University of New York, while Glen works in private infrastructure investment in New York. Glen graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in 2008 with bachelor’s degrees in international affairs and economics.

After Central Park, attendees will subway to Brooklyn for Pizza at a famed NYC pizza hangout, and then experience the stunning evening Lower Manhattan skyline light up in a sunset stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. Then they’ll go back to Wallace Hall by subway for a night of food, drinks and boogie dancing at Wallace Hall, then Times Square at midnight. Sunday’s activities start with a tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, followed by a late lunch. They will reconvene at the first Capitol of the United States at Wall Street and take a walk by the new Liberty Tower, to be finished in 2013 at 1776 feet high. Then it’s off to Ground Zero to cap off this exciting and spiritually uplifting and invigorating weekend. Come and meet, hang out and start friendships with young adults from all over the world in the Church of God community.

The New York City Young Adults Weekend registration fee of $100 will cover hall rentals, picnic food and drink at Central Park, the food and drinks at the dance, and two days of city-wide Subway tickets.
