Letter from Victor Kubik, President

September 8, 2015

Dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ,

I pray that you experience every spiritual blessing from God through the upcoming four Holy Days that start with the Feast of Trumpets. These days celebrate victory over our mortality, the return of Jesus Christ to earth and the coming of the Kingdom of God. We pray for that Kingdom daily as well as pray for you.

I first want to express gratitude for all the wonderful staff here at the home office who have worked tirelessly this past summer. We have a tremendous bond and love for one another and sense of mission for God’s work.

We’ve had unprecedented activity as we actively prepare for the future leadership of God’s work. As I mentioned the last time I wrote to you, we added six ministerial trainees to become future pastors of our congregations. We hired another elder to become assistant pastor in East Texas for a total of seven.

Last month we held a 10-day Pastoral Development Program at the home office for these men and women. We also brought in a few of our newer pastors at the same time for training. For the better part of two weeks we taught, interacted with and bonded with these fine men and women. We taught classes in pastoral care, homiletics, apologetics, use of social media, working with new people and much more. We actually developed classes that we feel will be useful for our other training programs and for ministerial conferences that we hold around the country and the world.

It was so refreshing and inspiring to be with our new leaders who were willing to go wherever needed and show the kind of enthusiastic energetic pioneering spirit reminiscent of our own beginnings in the ministry of Jesus Christ.

While the Pastoral Development Program was in session, the 2015-2016 class of Ambassador Bible College arrived, and classes officially began on Tuesday, Sept. 1. In our short period of acquaintance, we are again pleased as to the quality of men and women who have come here not only learn about the Bible but, as our new ABC Mission Statement reflects, to be equipped for faithfulness and godly service. ABC is producing active, not passive, Christians to be servants and lights in their congregations and in the world.

Then this past weekend we held our annual Labor Day weekend leadership seminar that had 32 participants from all over the United States and one couple from Canada. The theme was “Let This Mind Be in You.” From Friday evening to Monday afternoon we conducted classes primarily focusing on Christ-centered servant leadership—which was touched on in some fashion by every instructor.

This summer we have also been busy producing a special ministerial online training program called “Laboring in the Word,” required to be taken by all our ministers. It focuses on properly understanding, interpreting and preaching the Word of God as well as being caring pastors.

Finally, we are starting yet another round of online ministerial training in our regular online training class. As you see, we have a lot of quality training in progress to develop well-trained leaders to carry on the work of God.

From Beyond Today media—in addition to producing television programs and periodical content—we have finalized the schedule for the three-city Public Appearance Campaign in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston to be held in late October. Our staff has been working hard preparing our website, stage, video and content for the program titled America: The Time Is Now!

We are inviting our 8,200 Good News subscribers from the region as well as the general public for this three-part presentation by our Beyond Today presenters. They will bring three essential messages showing what God is doing in today’s world, to understand why your life matters and finally an action step message: to know what you must do.

Please help promote awareness of this program by sharing it on Facebook, Twitter or Google+. Go to www.ucg.org/beyond-today/events and then share to these social media sites.

At both our Pastoral Development Program and Labor Day leadership seminar we spoke about us all being more proactive in sharing our Church’s Web content—whether using your desktop computer, tablet or smart phone. Find a blog, article, BT Daily, for example, and press or tap on the social media logo such as Facebook, and it’s shared on your timeline!

We are pleased to announce that beginning Sept. 13, 2015, the Beyond Today television program will air every Sunday at 11 a.m. Eastern on the Word Network. This new airtime will complement our current Word Network air times—which includes Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.

As the apostle Paul prayed for the brethren continually, we do too. Please pray for us as well that we can continue the pace and load that we have before us. Pray that God open doors and gives success so that His will and name will be glorified.

Beverly and I will be in Austin and Houston, Texas, for the Feast of Trumpets weekend. We will be in Bend, Oregon, and Sevierville, Tennessee, for the Feast of Tabernacles. Please pray for all those traveling—some to challenging areas of the world to keep the Feast with faraway brethren.

May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you! We have been chosen and predestined to become part of His family through redemption by the death of Jesus Christ for our sins. I thank God for making this great gift to us. I thank God for all of you.

With love in Christ’s service,

Victor Kubik
