Stella Helterbrand began her role as the kitchen manager on Aug. 4. She takes over the position from Connie Sipes, who had performed the job since January 2011.

Stella is an ABC graduate of the class of 2005, having grown up in the Church attending the Portsmouth, Ohio, congregation, about a two hour’s drive east of the home office. She spent two years volunteering with the Jordan project, serving in the administration department at the Amman Baccalaureate School, then the Creativity, Action, Service program for grades 11-12, before moving back in July 2012.

Stella grew up cooking, loving to cook, and has cooked for many large groups at home as well as helping in the kitchen for Church events nearly her whole life, and working at different restaurants over the years. Asked about her hiring, she said, “Being able to work here and for ABC is exciting and I look forward to the adventure that awaits!”

Current ABC student Michala Lockwood was hired on Sept. 2 part-time to assist in the kitchen while she attends ABC.
