Orlando Church Has “Evening at the Fair” Social
After sunset, the Orlando church hall was transformed into a county-fair type setting, complete with carnival booths with games, face painting, prizes and a cake walk. The children were invited to dress up in their favorite superhero or Bible “hero” costumes.
The special Sabbath began with a “Test Your Bible Knowledge” interactive Bible study, followed by Sabbath services, then a potluck. After sunset, very creative booths and backdrops were set up, and the evening began. Children (young and old) tried their hand at seven different booths, including a ball toss to earn points to save Queen Esther, fishing Jonah out of the whale, the David/Goliath slingshot game, an “identify that Bible character” game and other fun activities.
Prizes that were awarded were Bible “trading cards” that featured key facts about famous men and women from the Bible. The cards were created and laminated by a local church member.
The evening ended with a cake walk, with many of the congregation heading home with delicious treats.
