Northwest Camp will again be held on the scenic Oregon Coast! It’s hard to imagine a more perfect place for a camp than Camp Magruder. Campers enjoy a clean, nearly private lake as the eastern border of camp and a pristine beach on the west. The dorms, dining hall and other facilities are among the best in the region and improvements are made yearly. The sandy beach is a great location for campfires as the sun sets over the ocean.

Beach activities offered include volleyball, speedaway (one boundary of the field is the ocean), skim-boarding and riding boogie boards in the waves. This year the horses from Chinook Outfitters are returning! Younger dorms will have two horseback riding activities and older dorms will have two waterskiing activities.

Other activities include swimming, waterskiing, kayaking on Smith Lake, archery, dance class and softball. We will also have two dances during camp.

Christian living lessons and memory verses are the core of each day. Each activity, lesson and campfire story is designed to help campers understand the principles and how to apply them when they return home. This year the focus is on the importance of being anchored to God.

Every year campers build friendships that will last a lifetime. Living in a world where evil and negative influences are everywhere, friendships with teens of like mind are vitally important. Our goal is to establish a godly atmosphere in which campers can be enriched for a lifetime.

Campers should arrive between 2-4 p.m. on July 18. Departure will be on Sunday, July 25, between 9-10 a.m. We provide transportation from the Portland airport (PDX) between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on July 18. Departure flights should be after 1 p.m. on July 25. Please email the transportation form and confirm that it has been received if you plan to fly! 

The camp experience is made possible by our dedicated volunteer staff. Counseling staff should arrive July 16 by 10 a.m. for training. Activity staff should arrive in time for 2 p.m. Sabbath services on July 17. The deadline for all applications is June 1, so apply as soon as you can. We are looking forward to a great experience for everyone on the beautiful Pacific coast this summer!
