He had been appointed the interim pastor after the death of Randy D’Alessandro on Oct. 13. 

In October, Gary Petty, pastor of the Nashville, Murfreesboro and Jackson congregations in Tennessee, was appointed the regional pastor for the Southeast region of the United States. Ken Martin had filled that role until his death in August. 

Near the end of October, Andy Duran became pastor of the congregations in Southern New Hampshire, Worcester (Massachusetts), Saratoga Springs (New York) and Bangor (Maine). He had been serving as an assistant for Andy Diemer, who has now relocated to southern Florida, where he will now serve as an associate pastor assisting Chuck Smith in the Ft. Lauderdale and Vero Beach congregations. 

In November, Lonnie Johnson was appointed the new pastor for the congregation in Springfield, Missouri. He has replaced Don Pirwitz in that role; Mr. Pirwitz will continue to serve the brethren in Springfield in the role of an elder. 

On Dec. 9, 2021, James Ginn was re-credentialed as an elder by the United Church of God. He and his wife, Kristine, serve in the Jacksonville, Florida, congregation.
