2022 Feast of Tabernacles
Passikudah, Sri Lanka
A group of 48 brethren between the ages of 7 months and 93 years enjoyed a wonderful Feast of Tabernacles at the Amaya Beach Resort, in Passikudah, Sri Lanka. We give all glory, honor and thanks to our God and Father and to our Lord and Savior for blessing His people with a joyous and inspiring Feast.
All brethren stayed at the same hotel and each day ate three delicious buffet meals together. This environment allowed us additional time to share experiences and enjoy fellowship.
Brethren gathered daily at the onsite conference hall, eager to attend services and listen to and digest God’s Word. The spiritual messages were compelling and meaningful, enriching the brethren. Special music each day was provided by the many talented Sri Lanka members who, along with one of our internationals, sang songs of praise to our Creator.
The brethren greatly rejoiced this year, catching up as they were not able to keep the Feast as a group in 2021 due to COVID-19 lockdown in Sri Lanka. The evidence that God and our Savior were with us throughout was very evident. All the brethren served one another with gladness.
Sri Lanka enjoyed many Feast traditions. One of those was an afternoon game of cricket. Young and old, first-time and experienced players joined in the fun. Another favorite was family day with the introduction of newer games that were challenging but fun; brethren competed hard and yet maintained brotherly love. One afternoon during the Feast, brethren went to the beach and a few relished snorkeling for the first time while others took a boat ride. One special evening at the end of the Feast, the blessing of God-given talent was showcased at the Feast variety show.
However, one of the true highlights of the Feast was the baptism of seven members who committed their lives to become disciples of Jesus Christ. Five of the individuals were from the Sri Lanka congregation and two from Pakistan. We know the angels were rejoicing with God the Father as these individuals repented, received God’s Holy Spirit and began their journey toward the Kingdom of God.
Feast 2022 will be remembered by the Sri Lankan brethren for some time to come. The eight overseas brethren who attended were simply interwoven with the locals to make one enlarged family dwelling together with love.
We thank God for everything, because His presence, direction and blessing made His Feast the success it was.
