This year 130 campers, 63 staff and 12 mini-campers gathered in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, to have our biggest Winter Camp ever. We are so thankful for God’s blessing and protection on camp as well as for all the staff that came to serve this year.

Each year camp is a special time that allows us to put away the distractions around us and focus on building relationships with one another and to grow our relationship with God in “The Zone.” As we go through our activities, which are a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, we practice living God’s way of life surrounded by people with the same goals. It is a very special time and a blessing for everyone who gets to attend.

We have sport activities (basketball, volleyball, field sports and broomball) in which the campers get to develop skills, teamwork, and encourage one another. We also have other activities (escape room, amazing race, dance and Bible class) in which campers get to work together, have fun, learn new skills and deepen their knowledge of the Bible. Winter Camp is a slower pace than our summer camps, which allows for more “hanging out” and fellowship time.

We used the same theme for Winter Camp as the summer camps did for 2023, “Race to Your Crown.” Because most of the campers have gone to a summer camp it gives us a unique opportunity to reinforce what they already learned and to dive into it on an even deeper level. It is such a beneficial way to finish the year as we encouraged them to continue their race and be dedicated to God’s calling.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate with us and we had significantly less snow than prior years, but our campers and staff made the best of it with great attitudes all week. We are thankful for the great campers and staff we had as well as the prayers and financial support we had so we could run our wonderful camp program.

After camp concluded I have heard from many parents and campers sharing how much of an impact camp had on them and how it gave them the motivation and desire to deepen their relationship with God.
