In accordance with God’s instructions, we carried out the Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day in Villa de Panajachel, Guatemala.

During the Feast, we received nutritious Bible teachings with 11 sermons on the central theme of the Kingdom of God, including the Feast message by president Rick Shabi. This Feast was attended by 168 brethren from different countries. We had two baptisms: María Cristina Zeceña Gonzáles and Magnolia Fabiola Gordillo de Santay, who were welcomed to God’s Family.

We had Bible studies for children, youths and adults. We also had a ladies’ tea, family day, a breakfast for the elderly, a boat trip around Lake Atitlan, a talent show and a sports’ afternoon.

Sadly, the country entered into a political crisis on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, causing a blockade of all the highways, and as a result, many had problems returning to their homes. We had 65 members stranded at the Feast site for seven days, only managing to get out on Saturday evening, Oct. 14. Thankfully, all returned to their homes safe and sound.

We first want to thank God and then all the brethren in different parts of the world for their prayers, which were answered in due time. We also want to thank the home office and Good Works for the emergency funds sent speedily to help pay for the extra meals, lodging and transportation because of the roadblocks.
