2024 Camp Report
Northwest
Together for a fun-filled week of activities, 116 campers, 70 staff and two mini-campers gathered at Camp Magruder on the Oregon Coast and enjoyed activities, fellowship and learning more about the battle which God has called us to fight.
This year’s theme, “Stand Strong,” was well received by campers and staff alike, and many excellent analogies were brought out in the Christian living classes that made the theme really come to life. We discussed the power and might which God provides His people when they abide in Him, the adversary which we are standing against, the armor and weapons which we take up and the importance and stakes of this fight. We are grateful to God for His presence and blessing on our Christian living this year.
During the time we were together, the campers had opportunity to enjoy a number of activities—boogie boarding and skim boarding in the Pacific Ocean, speedaway, volleyball and a beach walk social activity down along the beautiful Oregon Coast. Archery, softball, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, kayaking and dance kept campers active and having fun together. Arts and crafts gave them the opportunity to build chainmail bracelets and necklaces to remember the year’s theme, and the Excellence in Living class instructed them on the topic of apologetics and prepared them to be ready to give a defense for the hope that lies within them.
Northwest Camp is so appreciative of the incredible staff we have, who come back year after year to serve our youth, and it is fun to pick back up where we left off in our relationships with one another. Each of our staff spends the week building strong positive relationships with the campers and one another, connections that we all enjoy revisiting when we get together at the Feast, regional weekends and other Church activities.
We are grateful for all of the prayers and support from all of you which helps to make camp possible. We’re already beginning the process of planning for 2025 and we look forward to seeing you there!
