We tell the hockey players when to shoot and football players when to throw or to run. Our vantage point seems the best. It is easy to criticize and to find fault in others.

Benjamin Disraeli, 19th-century British prime minister, stated the obvious: "How much easier it is to be critical than to be correct." We grumble about things in our lives and in the actions of others with little thought to all of the circumstances. Murmuring or criticizing does not change things; it only yields a mind-set that is against almost everything. The concept of being negative hurts everyone and displeases God (1 Corinthians 10:10). How pleasant life can be when we strive to emphasize the positive and avoid the negatives.
