This question is one we need to keep in the forefront of our thinking, because otherwise, we can be trapped by temptation. Remember, sin is no trivial matter, because it produces harm and suffering. God gave us His law for our good. It is not that God just wishes to deny people pleasures. He knows that the lure of temporary pleasure can lead to heartaches and suffering—and eventually, death.
