Every destination has a path that leads you to that destination.  If you want to be wealthy, education and hard work is usually necessary.  A happy family begins with marriage.

 

Do we want a life that never ends?

                           

Psalms 16:11        

 

Any goal you desire has a path to lead you to that goal.  God's eternal life a goal.

 

Heb. 6:    1  Let us pursue perfection in our lives

 

Repentance

 

The path begins with repentance.  First, we have to understand who God is and who we are.  This idea of perfection is foreign to a physical mind.

 

Matt. 5:48 You shall be perfect just as you Father in heaven is perfect.

 

Everything that you think and do is completely bright and based on a motivation of love.

 

Mankind's motivation is for the self.  Love is an outgoing concern for someone else.  God's concern is for our well being.  Everything that God does is in perfect love.

 

With God, there is never a moment of regret or sin.  He is completely pure and without sin.  We continually sin in our mind and actions.

 

Deut. 32:3-4 --> God did immovable, powerful, and strong.

 

All of his ways are fair and on the mark.  With God, all of His ways are just and truthful.  Righteous and upright is He.

 

Psalms 12:6 --> God's word shows how Pure He is.  He never has to apologize.

 

I John 4:8 He who does not love, does not know God.  For God is love.

 

To become more like God, we have to be more loving.  If love isn't at the center core, nothing will prosper.

 

God has never had a spirit of thought or hate.

 

Exo. 34:6-7 God mercy and forgiveness is endless for His people.  Is there any perfection in mankind?

 

Rom. 3:23 --> For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

 

Rom. 3:10

 

Job 15:14-16 Men's core is completely corrupt and not filled with love.

 

Jer. 17:9

 

Matt. 15:19 --> Our problems and corruption go deep into what mankind is, it goes to our heart of who we are.

 

Mark 7:21-23

 

Man and God are at polar opposites.  At man's creation, God walked with Adam and Eve and taught them a life of happiness.  But, Adam and Eve rejected it and changed the relationship [ with God...

 

Gen. 3:22  --> You see penalties start to mount up because of that sin.

 

Gen. 14:3

 

Psalms 5:4 --> There is no please in God's eyes when He looks down and sees us sinning.

 

Isa. 59:    1 Our sins have separated us from God like it did with Adam and Eve.  Mankind can build the wall, but it cannot take it down.

 

Eze. 39:23 --> God does not have a casual view towards sin.

 

All sin comes back to satisfy one's self.  All sin is selfish and the opposite of love.  We are on dangerous group as Christians if we think that we don't have many sins in our lives.  We are called to see what is inside our heart and one not of love.

 

What is the actual to God?

 

Is repentance necessary for salvation?  Many faiths in this world do not believe that is the case.

 

Luke 13:3

 

Acts 3:19 When you repent and have a Godly repentance, our lives will change.  Our sins are then removed from us and we are refreshed.

 

The world goes through baptism to accept Jesus Christ but to believe it is just faith is ignoring the word of God.

 

Rom. 2:4 The goodness of God leads us to repentance.  

 

Acts 11:18 --> Repentance comes from God not from us alone.

 

2 Tim 2:25 --> God gives instruction to the ministry to correct those in humility.

 

Repentance is emotional and must come from our heart.  Repentance should be an endless action.

 

Matt. 3:8  Prove by the way your life that you have repented of your sins.  True Repentance is always watching for sin and going back to God to seek forgiveness.

 

Matt. 9:13 --> God has come to call the sinners, not those who think they are righteous.  

 

Rom. 6:23 The wages of sin is death.  The gift of God is eternal life.

 

Fruitful repentance is a life's journey.

I John 1:5-10 --> God is light, there is no darkness.  This is a message to God's people.
