Fire, Smoke, Rain, and Snow

Public

Greetings from Montana!

Many have asked about the status of the fires and smoke in Montana and the conditions near the Glacier Country Feast Site.   Recent snow and rain has nearly eliminated all the fires and certainly washed the air of the thick smoke. UCG members in the area report conditions the past week have been wonderful with beautiful blue skies and mild temperatures!  So, the fires and smoke are no longer a concern. They should not impact God's Feast of Tabernacles in Montana!

Although we are currently - this week before the Feast - experiencing beautiful weather, the forecast is for the weather to change. The temperature at the Feast site today is 74 degrees. The forecast is for temperatures to drop into the 50's for daytime highs with rain and possible snow between now and when the Feast starts.  For the first part of the Feast the forecast is for highs in upper 40s and low 50s with lows ranging from mid 20s to mid 30s. Weather to be partly cloudy with rain and snow possible some days.  The BEST weather day looks to be Wednesday and Thursday when temps get back to the low 60's and upper 50's.

With colder temperatures and rain and snow forecast I want to encourage you to all bring COLD weather clothing and gear.  Coats, hats, waterproof boots or footwear, umbrellas, and probably gloves. Those camping should be prepared for cold weather and have tarps and heaters to keep their tents warm.  Those in trailers and RVs will want to have propane to run their heaters.  Certainly one of the best ways to enjoy colder or cooler weather is to be prepared for it!

As last year, I have heard some are praying for snow. (This year they may have their prayers answered!)  However, I would ask you to ask our heavenly Father for beautiful weather that would be conducive for the outdoor activities - especially Glacier Day on Sunday the 8th of October, and Family Day, Tuesday, October 10th.  Warmer, sunny weather would certainly make those events much more enjoyable!  So, please, ask God to grant us good weather for His Feast!

Resources: There are many weather programs and apps. The closest town is Hungry Horse where the camp is located. Other towns to check weather for are West Glacier, Columbia Falls, Whitefish, and Kalispell. One link is:
