Updates from Ministerial and Member Services
On Aug. 21, 2018, the Council of Elders approved the appointment of Mark Welch as the Operation Manager for Ministerial and Member Services. Mr. Welch and his wife, Barbara, will be transferring to the home office in Ohio later this year.
On Aug. 20, Dennis O’Neill was re-credentialed by the United Church of God. He serves in the Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, congregation.
On Sept. 1, Filius Jere was ordained into the ministry. He and his wife, Chosiwe, serve in the Chipata, Zambia, congregation.
On Sept. 8, Victor Hou was ordained into the ministry. He serves in the San Diego, California, congregation.
On Sept. 10, the Feast of Trumpets, Steven Britt and Joshua Creech were ordained into the ministry at a combined service of the Cincinnati area and Dayton congregations. Mr. Britt was transferred in October to become an assistant pastor for the congregations in Columbia, Maryland; Richmond and Northern Virginia; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Delmarva with his wife, Danielle. Mr. Creech was also transferred in October to become an assistant pastor for the congregations in Nashville, Murfreesboro and Jackson, Tennessee, with his wife, Lizzy.
On Sept. 19, the Day of Atonement, Jim Call was ordained into the ministry. He and his wife, Darlene, serve in the Portsmouth, Ohio, congregation.
On Sept. 24, the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, Harold Descoteaux was ordained into the ministry. He and his wife, Sharon, serve in the Montreal, Quebec, Canada, congregation.
On Sept. 27, during the Feast of Tabernacles, Heinz Wilsberg was ordained into the ministry. He serves in the Dormagen, Germany, congregation.
