×With rolling farmlands, covered bridges, and an abundance of awesome scenery, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, also known as Pennsylvania Dutch Country, is an ideal location for the 2019 Feast of Tabernacles.
There’s something for every member of the family in Lancaster, from museums and factories, train rides and mini golf, to restaurants and shopping opportunities. The Feast will be held at Spooky Nook Sports, the largest indoor sports complex in the country. It is within a former 700,000 sq. foot warehouse building that includes the 135-room Warehouse Hotel, the Forklift and Palate Restaurant, an indoor sports complex containing numerous sports courts, turf fields, an indoor baseball diamond, batting cages, a climbing gym, fitness center, food court and more. Services will be held in the 11,000 sq. feet of meeting and event spaces. Passes to the courts, fitness center, climbing gym and more will be available free of charge to those staying at the Warehouse Hotel and available to others for a nominal fee.
Nearby activities include the Mennonite Information Center, which brings Old Testament history to life! A 45-minute lecture tour takes you into a full-sized reproduction of the Biblical Tabernacle. In the Holy Place, see a full-sized wax figure of the High Priest authentically attired at the Altar of Incense and a replica of the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies. Other Lancaster area activities include an excursion on the Strasburg Railroad. Passengers ride in vintage cars pulled by steam locomotives. In nearby Hershey, Pennsylvania, visit Hershey Gardens, a 23-acre botanical garden featuring flowers, shrubs, rare trees and a rose garden. Or check out Hershey’s Chocolate World, where you can create your own candy bar. Watch cheese, ice cream or furniture being made in one of the many factories in Lancaster County. And of course, no visit to Lancaster is complete without an authentic Amish buggy ride through the countryside and across the fields to an actual working Amish farm.
