2019 Camp Report
Camp Hye Sierra
This year’s camp theme, “Living God’s Way Today,” was evident throughout the week as the conversations and discussions revolved around how we can better live as a light to one another and to the world around us.
We could not have asked for better weather—nice warm days and cool crisp nights were the standard fare for the week.
The campers spent the days enjoying speedaway, kayaking, dance, arts and crafts, basketball, archery, fishing, Team Challenge, capture the flag and ultimate frisbee. The brother and sister dorms also got to enjoy a hike together to Tokopah Falls inside Kings Canyon National Park, which gave incredible views of large granite outcroppings and a raging waterfall due to the increased water levels over the past year.
Our amazing kitchen staff kept us all energized for the week’s activities with delicious food. Campers had the opportunity to grow closer together during the numerous chances for socializing that Hye Sierra provides, as well as during the two camp dances which gave us the opportunity to build bonds with one another through having FUN!
Thank you to all who prayed for the success of our United Youth Camp programs. God heard your prayers and provided one of the best years of camp yet.
If you haven’t been to Camp Hye Sierra before, or if it’s been a few years—come on out and visit us next summer! We’ll save you a spot.
