2019 Feast of Tabernacles
Kuressaare, Estonia
Breakfast and dinner gourmet buffets were enjoyed with a view of the Baltic Sea on one side of the restaurant and a medieval castle just a few blocks away on the other side of our upscale resort. Much of the food for the fancy meals was produced on the large island.
The Viking-themed area was rich with the history of the Estonian people. Remnants of the German and Soviet era occupations, as well as lighthouses and museums, were seen on a bus tour of the area. Many local shops and restaurants were within walking distance of the resort hotel. A day-and-a-half of sunshine brightened up the mostly cloudy weather and pleasant temperatures were enjoyed all week. The ferryboat ride from the mainland to the large island was also a pleasant experience. The socializing opportunities were outstanding and included a castle tour and a well-attended game night.
We were privileged to have special music every day of the Feast. Three different special music presentations in three languages (English, Estonian and Ukrainian) on the Eighth Day were a memorable highlight. We had an excellent variety of daily sermons and sermonettes, as well as two Bible study presentations and a slideshow tour of Israel. We also held a “Circle of Friends” gathering in the evening as we began the Eighth Day to share who we looked forward to seeing in the resurrection. All in all, the Estonia experience was a satisfying Feast that pointed to a marvelous future in the Kingdom of God.
