Your French brothers and sisters invite you to join them for the 2021 Feast of Tabernacles at the Ternélia hotel of Le Pré du Lac in Saint-Jorioz—a short walk from the shores of Lake Annecy. A well-known travel destination, the city of Annecy has been called the “Venice of the French Alps”. Its alpine setting just one hour south of Geneva welcomes visitors with its lakeside promenades, ornate and colorful old-town, cycling and abundant water-related activities like kayaking, paddleboarding and waterskiing. This region has much to offer and is a beautiful location to be able to spend God’s Feast together.
Located about seven miles from Annecy, Le Pré du Lac in Saint-Jorioz is situated on 12 beautiful acres with great views of the mountains which rise above the aquamarine-colored lake. The hotel’s newly constructed main building contains the conference center, a restaurant, a bar and an “Espace Détente” (relaxation area) offering an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and spa. This all-inclusive site provides the opportunity to experience full-course buffet style French meals while enjoying fellowship with other brethren from around the world.
In addition to daily church services and fellowship during the Feast, we have organized a number of afternoon and evening activities throughout the Feast to provide additional opportunities to worship and fellowship. On the second day of the Feast, we will bring everyone together with a welcome activity on the shores of Lake Annecy which will include, for those who are interested, a one-hour tour of the lake by boat. Excursions will include a visit to the Old Town of Annecy where you can enjoy shopping, dining and site seeing, or rent a boat, paddleboard or kayak and enjoy the lake on your own. Another excursion will take us to the village of Chamonix where you can visit the “Sea of Ice” glacier or board the cable car to the viewing platform at over 12,000-ft and take in the breathtaking views of the French and Italian Alps. Finally, we plan to also visit the medieval castle of Menthon-Saint-Bernard across the lake from the hotel. Please see the “Welcome Activity and Excursions” post for additional information.
On the 7th day of the Feast, with no excursions planned, feast-goers can choose to relax at the hotel, enjoy a bicycle ride along the bike path next to the hotel which circles the lake, or enjoy the local village of Saint-Jorioz and Duingt.
The average daytime highs in Annecy in late September are in the high-60s Fahrenheit (19° Celsius) with lows around 46 degrees Fahrenheit (8° Celsius). Le Pré du Lac in Saint-Jorioz is approximately a one-hour drive from the Geneva Airport.
As with prior years, the Feast in France will be all-inclusive and the price includes nine nights lodging with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cost for two or more adults lodging together will be €725 per person and for a person lodging alone €850 per person. Children 13 and under pay a reduced rate. For pricing information, please see the “Housing Info” tab.
Registration to attend the Feast in France includes: 1) Completing the registration process on this UCG Festival registration site and 2) Paying a non-refundable €25 per adult (18 years and older) administrative fee via the Feast in France Shopify E-Commerce site within 72 hours of submitting your ucg.org registration (a link to the payment site will automatically be sent to you after you submit your registration).
We look forward to welcoming all those interested in joining the French brethren at Lake Annecy for the Feast this year.
