Young Adults Bible Study (couples and singles) - St. George

On Tuesday, September 21st at 11:00 am (before the first Holy Day church service) we will have a one hour guided interactive session.  This session will focus on identifying the questions on current cultural and social issues that you face every day, and how to address them in a non-confrontational manner.

1. At the beginning we will solicit your input by asking:

  • What are the cultural and social topics on which you feel the least prepared?
  • With respect to these topics, what are the questions that have arisen, or that you anticipate being asked?

(Due to our time limitation, the rest of the session will focus on the most prevalent topic arising from your input.)

2. We will then briefly review some communication techniques which can be implemented.

3. In the remainder of the session we will focus on group based brainstorming on how to incorporate these communication techniques in our focused topic.

4. At the end, each group will present their best approaches.

Topics that you might consider are: {we will not cover the COVID-19 topic}

  • Same sex marriage
  • How to interact with LGBTQ+ individuals
  • Explaining what you believe about abortion
  • How do you interact with people who label you as a religious fanatic

With over 100 young adults (ages 19 to 35) this year at the St. George festival site, we have an invaluable opportunity for us all to engage with others concerning these issues.

We look forward to seeing you there!
