In 2016, Oxford dictionary chose the word of the year as “post-truth.” Think about that: a year being defined as “post truth.” This is defined as “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” When feelings dictate instead of objective fact, chaos ensues. Often in today’s culture, confusion is virtue and certainty is sin. How can we practice truth in a post-truth culture?
