The message expands on the two aspects of mercy given in the fifth Beatitude in Matthew 5:7, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." It looks at 1) being merciful to others, and 2) having mercy shown to us. These two aspects are further explored to a) show different situations where people need mercy, b) show our obligation to have and give mercy, and c) show the consequences of not showing mercy.
