They Are His Feasts - September 14, 2023
By Lynn Leiby
The Holy Bible is renowned for encouraging, uplifting and inspiring its readers. Oftentimes, however, the reader just might find some surprises within those pages. Take Leviticus 23 for example. This is where we find the list and summary of the annual holy days that God has commanded to be observed. There are some fascinating details given to each of these days. But the first surprise is found in vs.2 where God tells us that these are His days. He states, “The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.” Notice they are not called the feasts of the Jews, they’re not called the feasts of Israel or the feasts of Moses. They are called the feasts of the LORD. They are proclaimed holy, that is set apart for a sacred purpose, and they are His feasts.
The United Church of God Dallas congregation will be gathering together in Plano, TX to observe one of these holy convocations this Saturday, September 16th, 2023. It is called The Feast of Trumpets and it kicks off the festive fall holy day season.
