This year’s peaceful location for the Feast of Tabernacles was on the island of Dominica, nestled along the Atlantic Coast at the mouth of the Rosalie River. The Rosalie Bay Eco-Resort provided us with an outdoor meeting room for services, comfortable air-conditioned suites and indoor dining with special “clean” menus for our group of 23 people. Attendance included brethren from Dominica (four), St. Vincent (two), Tobago (one) and the United States (16).

Messages focused on the many aspects of our theme scripture, Acts 3:21, “For He must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through His Holy prophets” (New Living Translation). Special music added to the services. God protected us during Tropical Storm Philippe with favor to hold services in the indoor restaurant, as there were no other guests on the property at the time. The staff were friendly, which added much to our Feast.

Activities included a ladies' mingle, family day (games of checkers and dominoes with pizza), a hymn sing and opportunities to visit places of interest on the island: Roseau (capital), Scott’s Head, beautiful waterfalls, sulfur springs, black sand beaches and views of the Trois Pitons.

It has been over 25 years since the Feast has been held on Dominica, so this was very memorable for our local members. During two sermonette slots, we heard from Gus Joseph, who shared several of his life’s experiences and stories of faith, encouraging all of us. (Gus will tell you he has been blessed by God for 88 years!) We all felt blessed to attend this rare event in Dominica this year!
