Amidst the sunshine and beautiful colors of autumn, 132 brethren celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles in Walnut Creek, Ohio. This area is in the midst of Amish country, so visitors were able to enjoy distinctive local cuisine and tour cultural sites during their stay.

Services were held outdoors in a large tent at the Timbercrest campground. Many brethren also stayed in tents or RVs on site, while others stayed in nearby hotels or rental accommodations. Every day, after services and activities, brethren gathered around the campfire to share conversation, food and music.

This Feast site had an unusually high percentage of members who had kept 50 or more Feasts! Early in the Feast, this important milestone was celebrated with pie and ice cream. All age groups were represented at this site. An eager group of teens and young adults participated in Bible studies, karaoke and other activities together. A small, but enthusiastic children’s choir performed during services on family day.

Messages focused on a variety of topics pointing brethren to the upcoming fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day. Guest elders, Robin Webber, Bill Paz, Dave Hemsley and others assisted the festival coordinator, John Miller, with providing many of the messages.

On the opening night, John Miller urged attendees to make this the “Best Last Feast.” This is the idea that goes beyond simply having the best Feast yet—if this were your last Feast, how would you make the most of it?

It's apparent that the brethren took that advice to heart, as there was a spirit of joy and unity throughout the week. Some of the shared activities were group meals on the first day and the Eighth Day, building a booth together, a hayride and tour of “Hezekiah’s Tunnel,” a variety show and a Friday-evening hymn sing.

The group also rebuilt the wagon belonging to Camp Buckeye that was used for the hayride. A tree fell on it the day before the Feast so those at the Feast site offered to repair it as a community service project.

At the conclusion of these days, brethren returned home with great joy and renewed vision for God’s coming Kingdom.
