When David was young, before he became King, he learned life lessons and recorded them in a song. When he was old, the same inspiration was repeated, refined over his lifetime to reflect many of his life lessons. We need these same lessons in our lives.

David's life lessons recorded in 2 Sam. 22 and Psa. 18
1) David loved the Lord. 2) He knew it was God who gave him strength to hold fast. So he did. 3) He believed that God was his Rock, his fortress, his immovable defense. 4) He knew that he could trust God, and he did. 5) He believed that the Lord is his Savior, and would give him salvation. 6) David called upon the Lord, knowing He is worthy of praise. 7) David cried out to his God when he was in distress, and he knew that God heard. 8) David believed that the Lord was his lamp, and would light his way out of darkness. 9) He understood that with God's help, he could overcome every enemy and every trial. 10) David realized that all of God's ways are perfect. 11) He believed that the word of the Lord is proven. It will not fail. 12) He knew that God is a shield to all who trust Him. 13) David knew that it is God who could make him strong. 14) And, David believed that it is God who could and would make his way perfect.
