Called the “Little Smokies” because of its resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County State Park and the Abe Martin Lodge in beautiful southern Indiana will host Sabbath and Pentecost services June 15-16. The weekend, following a tradition of worship, fellowship and song, will feature the popular annual Concert for God on Saturday evening, followed by a hymn sing. The park’s rustic Abe Martin Lodge offers accommodations that include lodge rooms, cabins, dining and conference facilities (including the Melodeon Room, where services will again take place) and an indoor water park. A traditional Sabbath afternoon potluck will take place on June 15 at the Upper Shelter (details to follow), and a pre-paid option for Pentecost lunch (between services) will again be available.

Discounted rates for the United Church of God were set for a group block of 121 rooms and cabins, ranging from $89.59 (small rustic cabin room) to $223.99 (family cabin with full kitchen), plus tax. This year the UCG block includes the new cabin suites ($235.99). A full complement of rooms with queen and king beds (some including patio access) to family cabins (sleep eight) are available. Note: for those who would desire extra time over the weekend, the park extended the group discount to include options of arriving Thursday, June 13 through Sunday evening June 16 (Monday June 17 morning checkout).
