Sabbath Thought - Holy Day Hope

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  The seasons are changing so that we have warm enough days but cool evenings. The garden has produced its bounty for the year. The trees and shrubs all take on warm colors - and we have the fall Holy Days. In a world full of such anger, greed, corruption, and sadness, we have hope in the understanding that God is working out for the salvation of mankind.

We have hope that mankind will not erase all life off of the face of this planet. We have hope in Jesus Christ establishing God's perfect government in order to bring about the fulfillment of the rest of God's plan of salvation. We are shown that Satan will not rule over and deceive mankind forever. He will be cast into a bottomless pit. Jesus Christ has qualified to rule over mankind, and He will do so in His Millennial reign. He will bring peace, and will teach those who live into the Millennium what salvation is and that God desires for them to be in His family. We have hope in the promise from the Father to bring back to life all who ever lived so that they too will be taught His way of life and be offered salvation.

God has given His people a glimpse of the future through the Holy Days.  You and I have a foretaste of the hope that God has held out down through time to all of those who follow His ways. The fall Holy Days are full of hope in the promises God has made to those who will submit to Him and take on His character.

This hope should give us plenty of reason to rejoice in His Holy Days. May we all grow in His grace and knowledge as the first-fruits of the salvation of mankind. Let's rejoice before the great Eternal God in the coming Holy Days.

I wish you a very meaningful Sabbath and upcoming Holy Days,

Dan Dowd
