We are always learning. We can look anything up and find the answers. Is that good enough?

I have a question in luke 8 or 9. Jesus said to his Disciples he saw the devil fall from heaven ? What does that mean

Frank, Also consider Rev 12: 9 where Satan was "cast to the earth."

Hi Frank! Luke 10:18 says, "And He said to them, 'I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.'" Jesus said this because He was there when it happened. Notice John 1:1-3, 14, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." Before Satan became Satan, he was Lucifer: Ezekiel 28:14-15 says: “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.” Iniquity, or sin, was found in Lucifer. A further study shows that it was specifically pride that was Satan’s downfall: “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High’” (Isaiah 14:12-14). I hope this answers your question.

Hello Frank, If Jesus said it is true. it is true. But when did He see Satan fall? There can be a couple of answers to this question. I want to give you a short one. Let's go to Isa 14 verses 12 to 15 first. Isaiah has been talking about the king of Babylon but all of a sudden he addresses a being, far above (once) the earth! and even calls him by name and defines what happened to him, AND WHY, in verses 13 and 14 ! WOW ! Now let's go to Ezek 28. The chapter starts by talking about the prince (human) of Tyre but switches to the King of Tyre in verse 12. These are obviously not the same person. Why? By reading verses 12 (again completely) thru 15 we see a being much more than human ! This being messed up and verses 16, 17, and 18 tell exactly How ! By putting Ezek 28 with Isa 14 we get a pretty good overview of how Lucifer, a resplendent arch angel became Satan The arch demon, THE devil. Jesus, before His human birth, watched that drama take place. Jesus, our Lord, Saviour, and soon coming King has ALWAYS been with God. And, not to get into more than I can handle now, Jesus is one of only 2 God Beings !

I wish this sermon would be played for all congregations. People are oblivious…especially our younger members and our newer members.
