Satan told Eve that she would become like God and not die, if she were to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Satan lied and insinuated there was no cost to become like God and to live forever. In Luke 14, Jesus was upfront about the cost of becoming His disciple, revealing that we must essentially give up our lives to become like God and have eternal life. Many look at the requirements of this discipleship and ask themselves, “Why sign up for this, if it is going to cost my life?” Take a unique look into a “spiritual cost-benefit analysis” of becoming a disciple of Christ.
