How did the early church get taught without a canonized New Testament? Imagine trying to educate gentiles using the Hebrew Scriptures. The Book of Jonah could have been used as an example for people coming into the Christian faith. Jesus Christ referred to the prophet Jonah’s three days and threes nights in the belly of a fish. Jonah ran away from a calling from God, but ultimately repented and did God’s will.
