Throughout history, many people have had a period of their lifetime when they felt like they entered a “wilderness.” The word wilderness is defined as “an uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable region.” A wilderness can be physical, emotional or spiritual where we feel off-center, uncomfortable, anxious, or even alienated from others. Before we look at some biblical examples today, we will review two secular examples of great individuals who went through a period of time when they were in the “wilderness.” Here’s the key… when one experiences a journey into a wilderness… they come out of it either better or bitter.
