The time of testing was just beginning when ancient Israelites finished the Days of Unleavened Bread. For Christians today, it is the same. The Passover pictures Christ's sacrifice for all mankind. Next, the Days of Unleavened Bread picture the process of overcoming and putting sin out of our lives. We then must live that process for the remainder of our physical lives.
Israel came out of the physical nation of Egypt. We come out of "spiritual Egypt." Israel wandered through a physical wilderness and mostly ended up not having the faith to enter the Promised Land. In our spiritual wilderness of life, God allows us to go through trials and tests of faith. Before He makes us immortal, He must know that we have faith, trust and complete commitment to Him before He will let us enter our "Promised Land"—the Kingdom of God.
