The Book of Romans offers the best dissertation on the contrast between living in the world and living as one called out of the world. Our first of a two-part study today will center on the first half of chapter 8 which summarizes Paul’s dissertation, found in the previous seven chapters, on the subject of righteousness. When Paul used the word righteousness, he was referring to a right relationship with God. The righteous person is someone who is in that right relationship with God, and whose life shows it because of the fruits it produces. We will discuss those different aspects Paul offers to qualify righteousness today in covering Romans 8:1-17
